Building Financially Strong, Vibrant Communities Together

At Alero, community engagement isn’t a side project — it’s at the heart of our mission. As a national, not-for-profit credit union based in Chicagoland, we believe the best way to serve our members is by serving the communities where they live, work, and do business.

We partner with local schools, libraries, municipalities, chambers of commerce, and nonprofit organizations to deliver programs that educate, empower, and unite people around a shared goal: building financially strong, literate, and thriving communities.

Our Focus: Meaningful, Transformative Partnerships

We go beyond sponsorships to create impactful collaborations that help people of all ages and backgrounds succeed. Our community engagement priorities include:

  • Financial Wellness Education: Interactive workshops, presentations, and resources that help community members confidently manage money, reduce debt, build savings, and prepare for the future.
  • Literacy & Lifelong Learning: Partnering with schools, libraries, and education-focused nonprofits to support reading, financial literacy, and career-readiness skills.
  • Small Business Support: Collaborating with business districts, local business collectives, and chambers of commerce to help entrepreneurs and small-to-medium businesses thrive.
  • Equity & Inclusion: Special focus on financially marginalized or struggling individuals and families, ensuring they have access to tools, guidance, and opportunities to achieve stability.
  • Wellness-Themed Community Events: Creating experiences that bring people together around the theme of holistic wellness — financial, personal, and community health.

What We Look for in Partnerships

We seek opportunities that:

  • Create tangible community impact through education and engagement.
  • Encourage collaboration between local nonprofits, municipalities, and business networks.
  • Offer hands-on involvement for Alero team members and volunteers.
  • Align with our mission to empower people financially and strengthen community well-being.

If your organization shares our vision, we’d love to explore ways to work together.
