When you apply, here are some things you'll need to speed the process:
Social Security Number or ITIN
Valid government-issued identification card: Options include a driver’s license, matricula consular, state ID card, passport, or a U.S. military ID
Recent proof of home address on a power or water bill for your current residence (applicable if this information is not on your government-issued ID)

It takes about 10 minutes to fill out an application.
It'll go faster if you have the following on hand before you start:
Your Social Security Number or ITIN
Your government-issued ID (i.e. state-issued driver's license/ID, matricula consular, or passport from your country)
Your checking or savings account and routing number (or debit/credit card information) to fund your account electronically.
Please note that you will need to maintain a $5 minimum balance as part of our membership requirement.
All CAFCU members are required to make a minimum deposit of $5 into a Regular Share account to secure membership. These funds must remain in place throughout your membership. This is your "share" in the credit union and makes you a member-owner of CAFCU.
As a new member, you can start saving right away with our New Member Discount!
We want to help you start saving money as soon as you join Alero. That's why, for 60 days after you open your account, you qualify for a discount of 0.25% off the APR* on a fixed-rate home equity loan, vehicle loan, or signature loan.

Membership is open to anyone who:
works for an employer partner (also known as a "sponsor company.") Does your employer offer Alero's free financial wellness benefit? Alero partners with hundreds of companies large and small across the U.S. to offer employees the benefit of credit union membership. Find out if your employer is on the list by calling our Member Center at 1-800-359-1939 Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. | Friday 8 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. | Saturday 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. CT.
is a family member of a current Alero member, whether a spouse, parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew, in-law, step-child, or domestic partner.
lives or works within a 25-mile radius of a Alero branch.
is a member of The Hope Group* (you can easily join at the end of your application).
Once you’ve submitted an application, here’s what will happen:
Alero staff will reach out with a secure email with your member number and other important information.
